MFR Registration Renewal
When applying for re-registration, MFRs are to complete the following based on the category of MFR to which they belong:
- MFR Basic – complete a two-day standard first aid course with Health Care Provider AED/CPR through a recognized training agency (i.e., St. John Ambulance, Canadian Red Cross) AND additional bridging sessions provided by MFR Services OR attend all six essential competency sessions facilitated by EHS MFR Services
- MFR Advanced – complete MFR re-certification training through one of the recognized training agencies (i.e., St. John Ambulance, Canadian Red Cross) OR attend all six essential competency sessions facilitated by EHS MFR Services within the 3-year registration period (attendance tracked by MFR Services).
- MFR Paramedic – provide proof of licensing with the NS College of Paramedics and be an active member of an EHS sponsored agency.
- MFRs affiliated with Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Services may receive training through in-house refresher training sessions (provided by EHS approved Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Service personnel) as approved by the EHS Provincial Medical Director for re-registration.
NOTES: 1. You must be a member of a recognized MFR Agency registered with MFR Services.
2. You must upload supporting documentation.
3. Your current MFR Tag is not acceptable documentation for re‑registration with MFR Services. 4. The MFR Tag is identification only and does not serve as proof of course completion or attendance at MFR refresher sessions.
5. MFR Certificates may be used once only—for either initial registration or re-registration.
6. Certificates that have already been used are not valid for future applications
7. Certificates must be current and unexpired at the time of application.
